Karan Singh regales with poetry, Vedic chants during power cut www.keralanext.com
KOLKATA: Indian Council for Cultural Relations President Karan Singh held the city glitteratti captive with a repertoire of poetry and Sanskrit chanting, making up for External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee's delay in giving the inaugural speech at the ICCR's Rabindranath Tagore Centre...
Following a resounding 'yes' from the audience, he went on to recite one of Sri Aurobindo's spiritual poems 'Who,' which was, however, interrupted twice by brief power cuts. "This is the first time that I've recited this poem in three pieces," Singh, known for his erudition, said...
"I can go on reciting. As the ICCR president, I have to keep the culture going," he said.
