Noren-da's tall and cheerful presence

I always admired Noren-da's tall and cheerful presence which took almost a look of amusement. The only occasion when I saw his face without a smile was early in the morning, 5th December 1950 : he was returning to Golconde while I was rushing to the Ashram main building. A silent exchange of helpless look was all we were capable of.

Bright, sunny, not a typical monsoon Saturday at all...And Youth Center was full of laughter, jumping, screaming, and full of children who were trying to express themselves in various workshops, from painting, sawing, theater, drumming...to baking. The results of hard working morning were on display in the afternoon, when visitors could enjoy in a small presentation – two theater plays, one done exclusively by children, the other with a little help, dancing of girls, and lively rhythms of capoeria ... In conversation with children we found out that this events are very much welcomed from the side of them, further, they're saying that those are the beautiful part of life in Auroville. Today's news presents Frederick waxing enthusiastic about next February's third annual marathon which is already attracting runners from all over India. Also in the news an announcement about the Auroville Market; it will run every Saturday from 9:30 am-12:30 beginning December 12, a venue to bring people together to share information, ideas and create a warm ambience.
