Auroville, the universal township founded by The Mother, the spiritual companion of Sri Aurobindo, in Pondicherry Bhubaneswar
Around 30 delegates from 12 countries would come together to present Auroville to the people and at the same time learn about the history, culture, heritage and the rich traditions of the State. This is the first time that the Auroville International conference is being held in India Bhubaneswar
Addressing a media conference here, Satyakam said that Auroville is an unique ongoing experiment in human unity and sustainable practices that would be applicable to all people across all nations. The experiments in multicultural living, education, health, environment and commercial activities has yielded significant results over the period of 40 years, which could give a direction to other regions, states and countries.
The conference would provide a platform for sharing results of the ongoing social experiments with Orissa through presentations while those participating would get a first hand experience of the socio-cultural, historical, heritage and traditional aspects of the State.
The members of Auroville would be in the state from February 1 to February 7 and visit places of tourism, heritage and cultural importance.
Puri king Gajapati Sri Dibyasingh Deb would inaugurate the conference in presence of Higher Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra.
