Installation of Sri Aurobindo’s Sacred Relics in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jan 9 (PTI) Amidst serene atmosphere, relics of legendary revolutionary and thinker Sri Aurobindo have been kept at Matrubhaban in Cuttack for public viewing.

The relics, received by Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Biju Patnaik Airport here yesterday, would be taken to eight places in the state having facilities to construct memorials of the philosopher.

The urns containing mortal remains of the great spiritual leader were brought to the state from Pudduchery and taken to Cuttack in a flower bed-decked vehicle in a procession by his followers.

The relics would be sent to Katara in Jagatsinghpur, Nupatna in Cuttack, Markona in Bhadrak, Chadeiguda in Balangir, Saharchika, Damanjodi in Koraput Ma Nuapalli in Ganjam and Sunakhala in Khurda districts.

Orissa's Minister for School and Mass Education Pratap Jena received the relics from the chief minister.

Presentation of Guard of Honour to the Sacred Relics by the Govt of Orissa. Honourable Minister Sri Prafulla Chandra Ghadai will receive the sacred Relics from the Chief Minister and proceeds to Matru-Vihar, Khandagiri in a ceremonial State Procession. One Pilot Jeep , one Jeep with Bande Mataram recitation, one open Jeep with Relics and other cars will proceed through main street of Bhubaneswar.
