N. Vinaya Hegde, Shankar Jaganathan, and Tusar Nath Mohapatra

Conference on 'Ethics and governance'

The Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management (JKSHIM) is organising a national conference on the theme ‘Ethics and governance in management’ at Nitte in Udupi district on December 29 and 30.

In a press release issued here, K. Sankaran, director of the institute, said there would be debates on crucial sub-themes: determinism vs free will, control vs self-regulation, economic agents vs social beings, and shareholder vs stakeholder. Experts will present papers on topics such as ethical leadership, corporate social responsibility, responsible investments, social marketing, ethics of marketing, green and sustainable marketing, changing work ethics, decentralisation of ownership and other issues relating to ethics and governance in management.

Tusar Nath Mohapatra, director, Savitri Era Learning Forum, Ghaziabad, will inaugurate the conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Shankar Jaganathan, founder and CEO, CimplyFive Corporate Services Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, will deliver the keynote address. N. Vinaya Hegde, chancellor of Nitte University, will preside over the inaugural session.

Om Prakash Dani, vice-chairman, Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Integral Management, Puducherry, will deliver the valedictory address on December 30. Vishal Hegde, pro-chancellor (Admin.), Nitte University, will be the guest of honour. N.K. Thingalaya, chairman, academic council, JKSHIM, will preside over the valedictory function, the release added.
