In 1950, Indian guru Shri Aurobindo died. He was an Indian nationalist, scholar, poet, mystic, evolutionary philosopher, yogi and spiritual guru. After a short political career in which he became one of the leaders of the early movement for Indian independence from British rule, Sri Aurobindo turned to the exploration of the subtle realms of human existence and, as a consequence, developed a new spiritual path which he termed Integral Yoga.
