Original thinkers were few and far between in 1930s India, which looked up to the West and copied its models, often in a half-digested version. Jawaharlal Nehru was a parrot of Cambridge socialism, while Subhash Bose dreamed of a synthesis of communism and fascism. Even the independent-minded Hindu nationalist Sri Aurobindo Ghose was more indebted to Western ideas than he would admit, vide e.g. his evolutionistic reformulation of yogic ideals. © Dr. Koenraad Elst 11:11 AM

THE FAUX PAS OF RAMANA by S. Maheshkumar Sri Aurobindo’s tomes elucidate immortal life but when he died on 5th December 1950, it was a terrible blow not only to the mortal that he ever was but to his followers who persisted by the side of his lifeless body waiting for few more days in hope that their master might re-enter his body again and prove the validity of his statements. 4:31:00 PM

He did his first professional portrait at the age of 14. He had his first solo exhibition in Bombay at Gateway of India in 1993. Then, Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville in 1995. Several portraits and paintings are with Bollywood film personalities and a major work is in London. About 100 small water color paintings of spiritual themes are in collection with Sri Aurobindo Ashram. At present he is mostly busy with his ambitious Hollywood project entitled Fourth Dimension. posted by Shiva Vangara at 4:59 AM
