World Peace Trust celebrates Sri Aurobindo's arrival at Puducherry

Trust to celebrate Sri Aurobindo's arrival to Pondy Puducherry Thursday, Apr 3

The Puducherry-based World Peace Trust would celebrate the 98th anniversary of the arrival of Saint Philosopher Sri Aurobindo here, tomorrow.
Trust Managing Trustee Dibyendu Goswami, in a release, recalled it was on April four, 1910 Sri Aurobindo arrived here by a steamer, "Duplex," and was received by revolutionary poet Subramaniya Bharathi and Sri Srinivasachari.
He was taken to Calve Shankara Chettiyar's house where Swami Vivekananda also stayed years earlier during his South India Missionary Journey.
The anniversary would be celebrated in a fitting manner near the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the beach at 1530 hrs tomorrow.
A team from West Bengal had arrived here to take part in the celebration. A meditation session with the recorded voice of the mother and singing devotional songs and "Vande Matram" will mark the occasion. -- (UNI) -- 03MS13.xml India
