The Ladies’ Wing of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber is showcasing the artistic talents and entrepreneurial skills of 55 inventive women next week. Aptly titled ‘Women Entrepreneurs’, the exhibition has everything from designer wear, fashion accessories, jewellery to stationery, silverware, home accessories and gift items. According to Parul Choksey, Co-Chairperson- Exhibition Committee, IMC Ladies Wing, “‘Women Entrepreneurs’ has become a name synonymous with quality, exclusivity and style. New talent is unearthed every year. Many ladies have reaped huge career benefits after launching themselves on this platform.”
In its 19th year now, ‘Women Entrepreneurs’ has participants like Madhumati Shah, Sabina Singh, Shalini Shahani, Meghna K, Atika Jhaveri, Kanika Mehra displaying their designs, Jamini Ahluwalia, Shaheen Abbas and Urvashi Mehta displaying their jewellery and Malini Agarwalla, Kunti Oza Neomy Khatau, Shaan Khanna and Alisha Chinai showcasing some gorgeous accessories. The ‘Gold and Marigold Collections’, this year will showcase the well-known stalwarts along with young designers, who will make their debut at the show. Another thing to watch out for is Thiri Aung from Burma, who will be displaying her Burmese jewellery collection. 8 NGO’s will also be showcasing works made by their wards and staff. These include Kshitij, Om Creations, Karmayog, Smile, Sri Aurobindo Society and others. ‘Women Entrepreneurs’ 2006 will take place next Monday from 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Banquet Hall, Taj President.
