A report on Visit to Sri Aurobindo Srikshetra, Dalijoda, Cuttack
On 20th December 2004 in a team comprising of Mr. Bibhu Prasad Mohanty, Sr.Scientist-Site coordinator, M.S.Swaminathan Reserarch Foundation (MSSRF), Ms. Sujata Das, Research associate MSSRF and Prof. KC Mohapatra a retired agriculture scientist-cum-academician from OUAT involve in agrarian movement in Orissa, reached Sri Aurobindo Srikshetra. This organisation is famous in Orissa for its contribution on realizing and popularizing Sri Aurobindo philosophy at grassroots level. We conducted a few activities from 20th 21st Dec 2004. Following is the detail of the activities conducted by the team memebers during the stay The CampusThis centre has 250 acres of land, one relics centre of Sri Aurobindo with a systematically developed beautiful and strong nursery setup. This has got a small but powerful cactus collection, extensive horticulture activities and captive zoo of swan and peacocks. In addition to these, a well-organised dairy activities, models of modern scientific agriculture practices, rainwater & stream water harvesting systems, afforestation and appropriate management of natural resources. Entire area is fully utilized for agriculture, horticulture activities and conservation of agro biodiversity materials and commercial exploitation of those. It has got a strong nursery of various plants, a good floriculture activity, bio-waste management approaches and so on. It is a center of complete demonstration of livelihood security from natural farming approach. Following the is list of agriculture activities conducted at the center
